How a Catholic girl in Uganda led her whole family to Islam
Barbrah was born and brought up in Uganda as a Catholic; firmly believing in the trinity and the sacredness of the virgin Mary.
She studied Christian Religious Education at the O level, however, her parents were not able to fund her A level education.
When the iERA OS team once visited the village in Uganda, they met a group of girls that were poorly dressed – Barbra was one of them.
The team embarked on giving them Dawah; relating the modest dressing of Mary, Mother of Jesus to the Muslim woman’s Hijab, and also correlating the way of life of the Prophets to that of the Muslims.
Barbrah was convinced and she immediately took Shahada!
In the days that followed, her family observed her newfound faith led to a change in her behaviour, dressing and attitude. They were so impressed; so much so, that they soon all accepted Islam!
Babrah continues to practise and learn more about Islam and has developed a strong passion to give Dawah. She desires to live in an Islamic environment.
