How Yahya Taught Us a Lesson in Sincerity and Devotion
Prepare to be inspired by the incredible story of YAHYA, a new Muslim who found Islam a year ago through the guidance of the iERA Ghana team. He has been growing in faith and practice ever since; observed all the fasts of Ramadhan, prayed on the nights of Laylatul Qadr, and even completed his 6 days of Shawwal fast this year, alhamdulillah! He never misses his 5 daily prayers and also loves to attend Jumuah.
One day, after Jumuah, we gave him a ride on our motorcycle because it was too hot to walk. When we arrived at his house, he showed us a magnificent ram that he cherished. He told us that some Muslims had visited his place and tried to buy his ram for the upcoming Eid. They said they would give him a generous price because his ram was splendid! But he declined to sell it to them. He asked them,” Are you the only ones in need of Allah’s blessings?’
They were stunned by his question and asked him what he implied. He said, “We are all Muslims and you want me to sell you my only ram? I will also use it for the sacrifice.” The visitors were amazed by his sincerity and dedication and respected his decision.
This is just one example of the many enthusiastic reverts we meet in the field. You can help us empower them with more knowledge of the deen to help them practise it better in sha Allah. Donate to help iERA’s dawah work in Africa today; click http://ieraafrica.org/donate
