IT’S ABOUT TIME
Rayan was blessed to revert to Islam last year, but unfortunately, he was not consistent in attending the New Muslim classes that iERA offers in the villages. As a result, he missed out on a lot of knowledge about how to lead his life in his newfound faith.
iERA requests your support to run New Muslim Support programs in the village that help reverts learn basic Islamic knowledge such as prayer, Quran, and fasting. You can share in this prophetic mission today by sending your donation to https://sm.iera.org/africa.
Later that year, he fell sick and was admitted to the hospital. Coincidentally, the local Muslim community visited the same hospital to carry out a voluntary clean-up and distribute meals to the patients.
Rayan was so impressed with this show of concern and mercy that it cemented his love for Islam and ignited a desire in him to learn more about the religion and practice it. As soon as he was discharged, Rayan sat down with his grandmother and for the first time revealed that he had converted to Islam. He also invited the iERA team that was stationed in the village to his home to meet and talk to his grandmother about Islam.
His grandmother was welcoming to the guests, but even though she understood the message of Islam and accepted it to be true, she hesitated to become Muslim due to her senior position in their local church and community. Several attempts to convince her to not pay attention to people’s reactions, but rather do what’s best for her failed. However, when Rayan asked for her permission to pursue Islamic studies, she willingly agreed!
Since then, Rayan has been living with the iERA team in the village and regularly attending the New Muslim classes that our team offers.
