Shahadah Stories

WHY SHOULD I?

Mr. Michael was a Roman Catholic but quit the church later in his life. For many years he couldn’t wrap his mind around the idea of committing sin in private but having to confess to another human being to gain forgiveness from God.

When the iERA team visited his village, he attended the outreach event and his thirst for the truth was quenched after learning about Islam and the true purpose of life. He could not wait for the presentation to end to ask his most burning question, “What do Muslims do when someone makes a mistake to God?”

The iERA team responded, “Every human being makes mistakes, and once they do, they should ask forgiveness only from God without any intermediaries!”

This was it! This is what he had hoped religion to be all his life, but he also had another question, “Is it permissible to use herbal medicine for treatment in Islam?”

The iERA team replied that herbs were a grace from God upon us to use in treating ourselves.

Mr. Michael found these answers very satisfactory; it was as if a huge load had been lifted off his shoulders. He immediately declared the shahada and asked his family to embrace Islam.

It is indeed the ending we pray for in every outreach mission we go to; you too can join us in this work and its reward, insha’Allah. Support iERA by donating to https://sm.iera.org/africa today!
