IT MAKES SENSE!

How A Girl From A Mixed-Faith Family Chose Islam

She came from a family with two different faiths. Her dad was a Muslim and her mum was a Christian. They both tried to teach her about their religions, but she never felt a strong bond with either of them. As she grew up, she opted for Christianity because it seemed more flexible. She could dress how she liked and eat what she liked without worrying about any rules. She thought that was what freedom meant.

Because of this choice, she became closer to her mum and drifted away from her dad. As a result, she married a Christian man and even though she thought she had made the right choice, deep down, she always felt something was lacking. She had so many questions about Islam that she never got the opportunity to ask. Why did Muslims worship the way they did? Why did Muslim women cover themselves like Mary, the mother of Jesus? Who was Jesus to Muslims anyway?

One day, everything changed. She heard about some classes in her village that taught people about Islam. They were organised by iERA, an organisation that helps people discover the beauty and truth of Islam. She was curious and decided to have a look. What she learned there amazed her. Islam was not what she thought it was. It was not a religion of oppression or violence. It was a religion of peace and mercy. It was a religion that honoured Jesus as a prophet and Mary as his mother. It was a religion that made sense to her.

After attending several classes, she felt ready to take the biggest step of her life. She declared her faith in Allah and His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him). She became a Muslim. She said that it was the best choice she ever made. She felt a joy and peace that she had never experienced before, it felt like she had finally found her true home. The young lady was so grateful to iERA for helping her along the way. By the grace of Allah, iERA is doing amazing work in Africa and around the world, spreading the message of Islam with wisdom and compassion.
