Their First Eid!
New Muslims in Malawi had a memorable day recently. It was their first Eid-ul-fitr, the joyous festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadhan. They had never experienced anything like it before, and they were eager to join the festivities.
They woke up early and headed to the mosque, where they were warmly welcomed by iERA duat and the local Muslims. They felt a sense of belonging and gratitude as they embraced their new brothers and sisters in faith. The duat had prepared them well for this day, teaching them about the significance and beauty of Eid and urging them not to miss this opportunity to pray and rejoice.
They stood in rows with the rest of the congregation, feeling a surge of emotion as they prayed to Allah. They paid attention to the imam’s sermon, which inspired them to be compassionate, generous, and forgiving as Muslims. The sermon also praised them for their efforts during Ramadan and motivated them to keep growing in their faith.
After the prayer, they enjoyed a delicious meal and exchanged greetings with the community. They were amazed by the kindness and hospitality they received. They felt like they had found a new home in Islam, where they were loved and respected.
As they chatted with their new friends, the new Muslims thought about their journey to Islam. For some, it had been a hard and long journey, full of trials and tribulations. But they had overcome them, and they were now happy to be part of this vibrant and welcoming community.
